Guest/House

Guest/House is an experimental curatorial model, creating encounters between people and art within their homes. It suggests an intimate way to experience art by fostering a continuous relationship between an artwork and its host.
People are invited to be hosts of an artwork for ten days. During this period, they are asked to observe and document their relations with it. For this purpose, a set of questions and instructions is introduced in the form of an accompanying “hosting kit”.
Information about the artwork is revealed gradually, and provides the hosts with space to express original ideas. The kit includes the artwork’s label, an informative and interpretive text about it, a short biography of the artist and a selection of additional works by the artist.
